Our practice can provide a portable blood pressure monitor that records your blood pressure at regular intervals throughout the day. These recordings are taken over a 24 hour period while you move around, sleep and just live your normal life. This gives us a clear picture of how your blood pressure changes throughout the day and night and eliminates any 'white coat effect' that may be giving falsely high readings in the surgery. The monitor consists of a small digital blood pressure machine that is attached to a belt around your body which is connected to a cuff on your upper arm. It is small and discrete enough to let you carry on your normal daily activities and let you sleep at night.
